Emily Adams-Aucoin
Contributing Author

Emily Adams-Aucoin grew up in Upstate New York, but now lives, works, and writes in inner-city Baton Rouge, Louisiana with her loving husband, Brent. Emily works as a middle school English Language Arts teacher, where she exposes as much poetry to her students as the curriculum allows (and sometimes more). She has been writing poetry since the age of twelve and is inspired by nature, the human condition, and how both interact and cannot exist without the other. She often writes of her struggle with anxiety, depression, and disordered eating to raise awareness and show others that they are not alone in their suffering. Her poetry has been published in various literary magazines (After the Pause, K’in, Cagibi), and she posts original poetry on her Instagram page @emilyapoetry.
